Hyderabad: Mohammed Siraj, whose father Mohd Ghouse died on Friday, came in for high praise from BCCI President Sourav Ganguly after the Hyderabad pace bowler decided to stay back in Australia.
In his twitter handle, Ganguly said: May Mohammed Siraj have a lot of strength to overcome this loss…lots of good wishes for his success in this trip.. tremendous character.

Meanwhile, BCCI said in a press release that, they had discussion with Siraj and he was offered the option of flying back and be with his family in this hour of grief.
“The fast bowler has decided to stay with the Indian contingent and continue performing his national duties. The BCCI shares his grief and will be supportive of Siraj in this extremely challenging phase,’’ said the release.
Siraj, who is not in T20 and ODI squads, has been selected for the Test team that will play four matches Down Under.
