Ganja worth Rs 60 lakh seized; two arrested in Telangana’s Kothagudem
The duo reportedly procured the substance from a dealer in Odisha and smuggled it into Telangana by crossing River Godavari in a boat
Kothagudem: Burgampad police have arrested two ganja smugglers and seized 121 kg ganja worth Rs 60 lakh.
Paloncha DSP Sathish Kumar said that accused Vankudoth Sai Kumar of Sarapaka in Burgampad mandal and Pedamutyam Vamshi of Polipaka in Kunavaram mandal in ASR district of AP were arrested during vehicle sections at Sammakka-Saralamma Gaddelu on the outskirts of Burgampad on Saturday.
The accused procured the substance from a dealer at Kalimela in Odisha and smuggled it into Telangana by crossing River Godavari in a boat. They then shifted the ganja to a car to deliver it to a gang of five ganja traders at Yellandu crossroads near Kothagudem, the DSP said.
