Gemini Edibles and Fats collaborates with Akshaya Patra Foundation

The CSR initiative of GEF, India, will enable Akshaya Patra to provide nutritious food to government school children and also take-up Covid food relief work

Hyderabad: Gemini Edibles and Fats India Ltd (GEF India), which markets Freedom Cooking Oils, is collaborating with Akshaya Patra Foundation and has pledged to support three customized food delivery vehicles at Akshaya Patra-run kitchen in Kandi, Sanga Reddy district.

The CSR initiative of GEF, India, will enable Akshaya Patra to provide nutritious food to government school children and also take-up Covid food relief work in the neighbouring districts.

“We are supporting Akshaya Patra with six such vehicles across different locations. Our aim is to lend a helping hand to the communities where we operate,” P Chandra Shekhara Reddy, vice-president (sales and marketing) Freedom Cooking Oils, in a statement said.

The GEF, India initiative will help in reaching more than 20,000 rural mid-day meal beneficiaries and ensure that the government school children get nutritious and hot cooked meals. Each vehicle can reach out to over 4000 beneficiaries and also take care of Covid food relief work.

“We are grateful to GEF India, for collaborating with us in reaching out to government school children with the support of three customized food delivery vehicles,” Shridhar Venkat, CEO, Akshaya Patra Foundation said.
