GHMC deputy commissioner suspended for failing to assume charge
GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan suspended Deputy Commissioner V Srinivasa Reddy for failing to assume charge of Circle-40, Kavadiguda, despite transfer orders issued on December 27. Karnan placed him under suspension with immediate effect, pending disciplinary proceedings.
Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) commissioner RV Karnan suspended V Srinivasa Reddy, Deputy Commissioner of Kavadiguda, on Sunday for failing to assume charge of GHMC Circle-40, Kavadiguda.
On December 27, the commissioner transferred and posted Reddy, who was working on deputation as Deputy Commissioner, GHMC, to GHMC Circle-40, Kavadiguda, in the same cadre as part of the reorganisation of GHMC into 60 circles, with instructions to assume charge immediately and report compliance.
The commissioner noted that Reddy had neither complied with the transfer and posting orders nor assumed charge or reported for duty in the transferred circle, thereby prima facie exhibiting disobedience to lawful orders and dereliction of duty.
RV Karnan declared that Srinivasa Reddy, Deputy Commissioner, Circle-40, Kavadiguda, GHMC, was under suspension with immediate effect, pending disciplinary proceedings.
