GHMC transfers 60 engineers to boost solid waste management in Hyderabad
GHMC commissioner RV Karnan has transferred and posted 60 Deputy Executive Engineers to the Solid Waste Management wing following the merger of 27 urban local bodies into GHMC limits. The corporation has been reorganised into 12 zones and 60 circles to strengthen waste management operations.

Hyderabad: The Commissioner of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), RV Karnan transferred and posted 60 Deputy Executive Engineers to its Solid Waste Management (SWM) wing on Sunday.
The Commissioner exercised the transfers following the merger of 27 urban local bodies (ULBs) into the GHMC limits. Consequent to this expansion, the corporation was reorganised into 12 zones and 60 circles.
Commissioner Karnan in an official statement on Sunday, said, “the transfers were effected on administrative grounds to strengthen waste management operations across the newly configured municipal jurisdiction.
The engineers have been posted to various circles under the zones of Malkajgiri, Uppal, L.B. Nagar, Shamshabad, Rajendranagar, Charminar, Golconda, Khairatabad, Secunderabad, Serilingampally, Kukatpally and Quthbullapur.”
This restructuring is expected to enhance the efficiency of solid waste management services in the rapidly expanding Greater Hyderabad region, ensuring better civic amenities for residents, he said.
