GHMC food safety wing conducts special inspection drive across Hyderabad
GHMC’s Food Safety Wing conducted a special drive across Hyderabad, inspecting 81 food establishments in schools, parks, and bakeries. Officials educated operators on hygiene norms, collected food samples, and issued 14 notices for violations to ensure child-safe food environments.

Hyderabad: The GHMC food safety wing on Sunday conducted a special drive for food safety in child-frequented food establishments, including school premises, play zones, GHMC parks, and bakeries.
According to a press release, the officials carried out 81 inspections across parks, school premises, food courts, and bakeries as part of the drive. During the inspections, Food Business Operators (FBOs) were educated on key food safety and hygiene parameters, including proper labelling of packaged raw materials, proper storage and preservation of food articles, and pest control measures, along with the related records to be maintained.
Also, 14 notices would be issued to FBOs for violations identified during the inspections. Food safety officers also collected some food samples and sent them for laboratory analysis, and issued instructions to all FBOs to adhere to the norms.
