Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) on Friday launched a special drive against unauthorised constructions, carrying out demolition operations in three zones across Hyderabad.
A preliminary assessment identified 473 ongoing constructions across GHMC limits as unauthorised or in violation of sanctioned plans. Notices were being issued and speaking orders passed under the provisions of the Core Urban Region Economy (CURE)-2026 Act.
GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan said a comprehensive plan was being implemented to demolish or seal such structures. Enforcement operations would continue across all zones to ensure compliance with building regulations and prevent unauthorised construction, the release added.
