GHMC intensifies drive against footpath encroachments across Hyderabad
The GHMC intensified its footpath encroachment clearance drive across Hyderabad, carrying out demolitions in multiple zones. With police support, officials deployed earthmovers in key locations to reclaim pedestrian spaces and address long-standing encroachment issues across the city.

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) intensified its footpath encroachments clearance drive on Saturday, with demolitions carried out in key zones.
The drive began at 7 am amid police force and involved clearing encroachments on footpaths. The areas where the drive was taken up included Badangpet, Santoshnagar, Rajendra Nagar, Attapur, Karwan, Mehdipatnam, Khairatabad and Kavadiguda, Shamshabad, Rajendranagar, Charminar, Golconda, Khairatabad and Secunderabad Zones.

GHMC deployed earth movers in all areas identified as critical for footpath encroachments within GHMC limits. These included Kandikal bridge to Chatrinaka junction, Aramgarh area, Mehdipatnam and Gudimalkapur areas, Kachiguda junction, Maheshwari-Parameshwari theatre, Sultan Bazar, near Andhra Bank Signal (Sultan Bazar), Gandhi Hospital and Padmarao Nagar.
