GHMC Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi disburses ex-gratia amount to kin of fire mishap victims

On April 16, 2023, a fire mishap occurred at a timber depot in Kushaiguda, resulting in the deaths of three family members.

Hyderabad: GHMC Mayor, Gadwal Vijayalakshmi on Saturday disbursed an ex-gratia cheque of Rs 6 lakhs to the kith of the family members of the deceased in a fire mishap.

On April 16, 2023, a fire mishap occurred at a timber depot in Kushaiguda, resulting in the deaths of three family members. A couple, Naresh (35) and Suma (28), and their five-year-old son, Joshith alias Babu, was charred to death. All the deceased family hailed from Suryapet district. The incident occurred in the early hours while the trio were in a deep sleep.

In another event, the Mayor inaugurated additional classrooms in a government school at NBT Nagar for which Rs 1.16 crore was spent with the contribution of MPLADS, Sarva Siksha Abhiyan, and Amma Adarsha Patashala scheme.
