Hyderabad: In the financial year 2020-2021, Hyderabad citizens paid over Rs 1,700 crore in property taxes and Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi appreciated the participatory nature of urban development in the city, in addition to the sense of responsibility that the citizens of Hyderabad have shown.
She also expressed her gratitude to the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao for waiving 90 per cent interest on unpaid property taxes of the fiscal year 2019-2020, which enabled the record payments this year. She also said that the Minister has undertaken several initiatives and schemes for the development of Greater Hyderabad and these have enabled payment of property taxes.
Vijayalakshmi also lauded the GHMC officials who worked hard to achieve this target.
