GHMC polls: Lalithabagh Congress candidate’s kin seek protection

Hyderabad: The family of the Congress candidate from Lalithabagh division in the old city has asked the Election Commission of India (ECI) to provide security for them by the central paramilitary force.

Mohd Imran, the brother of Mohd Irfan, who is contesting on a Congress ticket from Lalithabagh, in a letter to the Chief Election Commissioner said they were facing a threat to life from the AIMIM.


He also asked the ECI to deploy women police personnel at polling stations to prevent bogus voting and facilitate checking of woman voters.
