GHMC to crackdown on sales of imported fireworks

The Union government has banned sale of imported fire crackers this year and accordingly, there is no import of fireworks from any country

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has constituted teams to identify shops and persons selling imported firecrackers and impose severe penalties and punishments.

The Union government has banned sale of imported fire crackers this year and accordingly, there is no import of fireworks from any country. Therefore illegal import, sale and distribution of foreign origin fireworks is punishable offence.


The municipal corporation has appealed to citizens to share information in case if they come across anyone selling imported firecrackers, at the nearest police station for suitable action, said a press release.
