Girl student ends life after mother denies mobile phone in Asifabad

Kumram Bheem Asifabad: A Class X girl student died, allegedly by suicide, after her mother refused to give her a mobile phone for preparing a project in Koutala mandal centre on Saturday night.

Koutala Sub-Inspector N Madhukar said the Bommakanti Spurthi (17), a student of a private school in Koutala mandal headquarters died by suicide. Spurthi was reportedly depressed when her mother denied her a mobile phone for downloading study material online. She ended her life when none was present.

Sadanandam, the father of the girl lodged a complaint with the police. A case was registered. Investigations are on.
