Sangareddy: School of Science and School of Technology, Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management, Hyderabad (GITAM-H), will conduct a national level essay contest on science and technology. Both schools are inviting entries from Intermediate (Plus 2) students from across the country. Students who are family members of GITAM employees are not eligible to participate.
The topics are- Life during Covid-19 (Origin of virus, Spread, Lockdown steps, Vaccine development and Environment – Post Covid), Online Teaching: Benefits and limitations (Sharing of lecture content apriori, Delivery of lecture, Infrastructure, Virtual lab classes and Responsibility of parents) and Social Ethics, Morals and Values (Respect of elders, Role of parents and grandparents, Influence of teachers, Lifestyle and Lack of ethics – impact on the society).
Handwritten manuscripts should be scanned and they should be mailed to essaygitam@gitam.in. Typed essays will not be accepted for this competition. A maximum of 30 essays will be selected and their authors will be invited to give an online presentation in the first week of February 2021.
The winners of first, second and third prize will get a cash reward of Rs.20,000, Rs15,000 and Rs10,000. Consolation cash awards of Rs.2,000 will be given to all those who make oral presentations.
The prizes will be distributed during the celebration of National Science Day. The last date for sending essays is December 26. The online presentations are sceduled on 6 February 2021 and prize distribution on February 28.
