Janmashtami, the birthday of Lord Krishna was celebrated in a grand way by the students of nursery at Gitanjali Devashray. Mothers came dressed as Ma Yashoda while the girls turned up in Radha’s attire and boys as natkat Krishna’s. Children made a flute using sequins as a birthday present for Lord Krishna as it was his birthday and that he loves playing Bansuri.
Children enjoyed a video of how the ritual of playing Dahi Handi had started on Janmashtami and why Lord Krishna is referred to as “Makhan Chor”. They then danced along with their moms to celebrate the day and birth of Lord Krishna.
