Gitanjali Devashray, in collaboration with Yashoda Hospitals, Secunderabadunit, hosted a unique offline training programme on Basic Life Support or BLS for the staff of all the Gitanjali Group ofschools under its banner in its premises.
BLS is a level of medical carethat is used for victims of life threatening
illnesses or injuries until they can be given full medical care by advanced life support
providers.
Dr Ranjit Kumar Konduru MBBS, DEM (RCGP), MRCEM (RCEM, UK), the HOD and consultant, Department of Emergency Medicine and Trainer for ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support, BLS – Basic Life Support, PALS/NALS – paediatric / Neo-Natal Life Support, ATLS – Advanced Trauma Life Support, with resident Dr Sainath, along with Anand William, asst manager, emergency services conducted the two and a half-hourlong training session, wherein they divided the whole workshop into three parts, namely
first aid, BLS and triage and explained in clear and lucid language,
all aspects of the processes with the help of PowerPoint
presentations and other aids.
Along with imparting extremely valuable knowledge on BLS, the doctors gave a one-on one practical experience at Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation or CPR, to all the attendees.
The training session, along with the question-answer round, providedan excellent opportunity to the attendees to prepare for and handle others, in the event of any unforeseen situation.
