Hyderabad: This year, students of Gitanjali Primary School observed the auspicious festival of Dussehra by ‘dumping the evil’ from their lives. They vowed to get rid of their old, bad habits by unloading certain negative traits that are hindering their growth and killing positivity.
For that, at first, they brought themselves embellished mud, glass pots, and jars and wrote the one negative trait they wanted to get rid of on a piece of paper. They got dressed in traditional wear.
They also told their friends during the online classes, the importance of dumping certain evil habits in order to move on to a better future before tearing up the paper and throwing it in the pot.
Parents too participated in the activity and talked about certain evil practices they want to eliminate from society such as corruption, poverty, inequality, etc. Some children dressed up like Lord Rama, Sita and Durga Devi, recited slokas and enacted the moments from the history of Dussehra. This was a special way to welcome the festival where we celebrate the victory of good over evil.
