Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday said global conflicts are impacting the marketing of products from the state, while stressing that the Centre is taking steps to mitigate the fallout.

Addressing a session at the Indian School of Business here, he said geopolitical tensions are influencing economic activity and supply chains.

“The marketing of state products is being affected by global conflicts, but the Centre is taking steps to minimise the impact,” he said.

Highlighting past reforms, he said the economic changes introduced in 1991 transformed the country and helped shift Andhra Pradesh from an agriculture-based economy towards industrial growth.

He noted that the focus on the knowledge economy and promotion of information technology led to the development of Hyderabad as a major IT hub, with projects such as Cyber Towers here symbolising that progress.

Naidu said global firms like Microsoft choosing Hyderabad over other cities reflected the success of those early decisions, and institutions like the Indian School of Business further strengthened the ecosystem.

According to him, initiatives like Genome Valley contributed to the growth of the pharma sector, making the Telugu states leaders in the field, including during the COVID-19 period when vaccines were supplied globally.

Referring to Andhra Pradesh, he said the state faced severe setbacks before 2024 during the previous YSRCP regime, with weakened systems and loss of brand image.

He said the current NDA coalition government has taken rapid decisions in welfare, development and governance, placing the state among the frontrunners in attracting investments.

Emphasising future technologies, the Chief Minister said quantum computing, artificial intelligence and drones will shape the next phase of growth.

He added that the state is developing space, electronics and drone cities, alongside reforms in the power sector focusing on green hydrogen and green ammonia.

The Chief Minister said sustainable energy solutions would help avoid increasing electricity charges while ensuring affordable fuel and power.

LPG shortages due to global issues have increased the importance of piped natural gas (PNG), he said, adding that Andhra Pradesh aims to lead in green fuel production in South India.

Highlighting the use of technology in governance, he said AI has improved darshan efficiency in Tirumala and modern labs are ensuring quality in prasadam preparation.
