Hyderabad: GMR Aero Academy (GMR AA) has announced the recommencement of its Aircraft Rescue & Fire Fighting (ARFF) training program on Monday at its Hyderabad campus.

The internationally recognized ARFF program, which had previously trained over 350 personnel between 2013-2018 will resume with its 9th batch starting May 14. The 24-week comprehensive program features ICAO-compliant curriculum, hands-on training with modern firefighting equipment, and instruction from industry-leading faculty.

Graduates of the program have access to GMR AA’s extensive network spanning 15 Indian airports and partnerships with leading airlines including IndiGo and Air India Express, a press release said. The Academy’s placement record of 90 per cent has helped position over 980 trained professionals across Indian airports.

With the aviation sector witnessing unprecedented growth and numerous airports being developed across India, this strategic relaunch addresses the increasing demand for professional fire and rescue personnel, particularly benefiting youth from Telangana and surrounding southern states.

Ashok Gopinath, President GMR Aero Academy said, “Airport firefighters are the guardians of aviation safety, whose split-second decisions and actions save countless lives.”
