Kothagudem: River Godavari receded and the water level at Bhadrachalam pushkar ghat went down below the first warning level of 43 feet on Sunday.
The first and second warnings, issued as the river crossed the second warning level of 48 feet on Saturday, have been withdrawn. At 6 pm, the water level at pushkar ghat was 41.40 feet, District Collector D Anudeep said.
However, the residents in villages on the banks of the river have to be cautious since water level in the river was still high. MPDOs and gram panchayat officials were directed to carry out sanitation works in the villages affected by floods to prevent spread of viral diseases, he noted.
Anudeep told the officials to drop oil wherever there was water stagnation, to supply clean drinking water, clean water sources and conduct medical camps in the villages. Fishermen were advised not to venture into the river for fishing.
