Gohil and Akansha clinch Under-18 tennis titles

Vraj Gohil and Akansha Ghosh won the boys and girls singles titles respectively at the Ash-AITA under-18 national tennis series. Doubles matches were abandoned due to heavy rain at Shamirpet

Hyderabad: Vraj Hiteshbhai Gohil of Gujarat and Akansha Ghosh of West Bengal emerged champions in the boys and girls singles respectively of the Ash-AITA National Series (under-18) tennis tournament at Ash Tennis Academy (Shamirpet) near here on Sunday.

In the boys final, fourth-seeded Gohil surprised his teammate and second-seeded Om Ramesh Patel 6-2, 6-1, while sixth-seeded Akansha scored a shock 6-4, 6-0 win against top-seeded Aakruti Narayan Sonkusare in the girls final.


The doubles matches were abandoned due to heavy rain.
