Hyderabad: For the annual festivities of Bonalu, all required arrangements were put in place at Golconda. Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, in a meeting held this week, said the State government sanctioned Rs 15 crore for arrangements during the Bonalu celebrations in the city.
The festival will be celebrated on July 11 in Golconda followed by celebrations in Secunderabad on July 25. In Hyderabad, the festival will be celebrated on August 1. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has made arrangements ahead of the festival which includes illumination, sanitation and fogging. To get the financial assistance, temple committee members were asked to forward their request to the local MLA of that area or the Telangana Endowments Department.
Cops issue traffic advisory
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Traffic Police issued an advisory to motorists in view of the Golconda Bonalu celebrations on Sunday. Additional Commissioner (Traffic), Anil Kumar, said traffic restrictions will be in place from 8 am to 8 pm as heavy traffic is expected during the celebrations. Motorists heading to the fort were advised to take alternative routes as the three routes leading to the Golconda Fort are expected to be heavily congested.
The following routes are expected to witness heavy traffic — Ramdevguda to Golconda via Makkai Darwaza, Langar Houz to Golconda via Fateh Darwaza and Seven Tombs to Golconda via Banjara Darwaza. Parking arrangements were made at HUDA Park, Owaisi Grounds, Priyadarshini School and Area Hospital Golconda. The traffic police appealed to the visitors to cooperate with the policemen on duty.
