Golden jubilee celebrations at Air Force Academy Dundigal on Jan 16
The Academy foundation stone was laid by Zakir Hussain, the then President of India on October 11, 1967
Hyderabad: As part of its golden jubilee celebrations, Air Force Academy at Dundigal here has lined up several events such as Golden Jubilee Marathon, Academy Utsav, blood donation camp, activities by Air Force Wives Welfare Association, from January 16.
The celebrations will culminate on January 19 with a training workshop and the release of the Indian Postal department Special Cover by Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria, Chief of the Air Staff.
The Academy foundation stone was laid by Zakir Hussain, the then President of India on October 11, 1967 and on January 16, 1971, K Brahmananda Reddy, the then Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, formally inaugurated it.
During its fifty glorious years, Air Force Academy, the ‘alma mater of all officers’ of IAF has evolved progressively to become a world-class academy to train air force officers.
