A 40-year-old goldsmith in Medak, Lashkari Naresh Chary, died by suicide due to declining business amid soaring gold and silver prices and competition from corporate jewellery stores. Police have registered a case, and an investigation is ongoing.
Medak: A 40-year-old goldsmith, unable to find sufficient work due to the steep rise in gold and silver prices, died by suicide at his residence in Medak town in the early hours of Sunday.
The goldsmith was identified as Lashkari Naresh Chary. He had reportedly been facing severe financial problems as business slowed down following the expansion of corporate jewellery stores. The situation worsened in recent months with a sharp increase in gold and silver prices, which led to a decline in sales.
Chary is survived by his wife and two children. Police have registered a case and an investigation is underway.
