A 40-year-old goldsmith in Medak, Lashkari Naresh Chary, died by suicide due to declining business amid soaring gold and silver prices and competition from corporate jewellery stores. Police have registered a case, and an investigation is ongoing.
Following a complaint filed by a customer Ambadipally Bhaskar, the Two-Town police led by B Upendar launched an investigation and found that the accused, Chepuri Ravi Kumar, had allegedly cheated many of his customers in the same way.
The deceased were Uppula Satish alias Navadhan (33) and his wife Sravanthi (28). Their son Virat (7) too consumed a small amount of the cyanide laced water that was given to him claiming that it was ‘Tulsi’ water.
