Hyderabad: The long-standing wait for employees of the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) has finally come to an end with the State government giving green light for ‘Encashment of Earned Leaves,’ a long-pending demand of the institute’s staff.

Until now, regular employees at NIMS, who receive AIIMS pay scales, have not had the provision to encash their earned leaves. Employee unions had been bringing this issue to the government’s attention for a long time.

Recently, representatives of the Hospital Nursing union met the State Health Minister to explain their grievances. Responding positively, Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha held discussions with officials and directed them to issue the necessary orders.

According to the new orders, NIMS employees can now surrender their earned leaves for cash, following the ‘Telangana Leave Rules-1933’.

Following the development, the NIMS staff expressed their gratitude to Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha for recognising their hard work and fulfilling a long-cherished dream. They noted that this decision would benefit thousands of employees and significantly boost staff morale.
