Government to clear pending ULC applications

The Telangana government has ordered speedy disposal of pending Urban Land Ceiling applications, directing officials to examine cases filed under various government orders. Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said the move would help resolve property-related issues and facilitate eligible registrations

Hyderabad: The State government has ordered the expeditious disposal of pending applications under the Urban Land Ceiling (ULC) Act, with eligible cases to be regularised as per rules. In this regard, the Revenue department issued Memo No. 48062/ULC/A1/2026-1, directing officials to examine pending applications received under GOs 455, 456, 747 and 92 and take necessary steps in eligible cases.

Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Sunday said thousands of ULC applications had remained pending for years despite orders issued in 2016 for their disposal. This had caused difficulties for applicants in establishing rights over their properties and undertaking transactions, he said.

The latest move is part of the State government’s exercise to resolve issues linked to Section 22-A, following Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s assurance in the Assembly on September 16.

The Minister said a high-level committee had already been constituted and orders issued to facilitate the registration of eligible houses, plots and flats in 22-A properties with valid statutory permissions from HMDA, GHMC, other urban local bodies and DTCP. He said the government would take up the remaining issues for speedy resolution.
