Hyderabad: Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan on Friday extended her greetings to the people of Telangana State wishing them bountiful happiness and prosperity on the joyous occasion of Deepavali. She said the festival of lights signifies the victory of righteousness over evil.

Quoting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal, the Governor urged people to celebrate by buying festival materials of indigenous manufacturers and bring brightness in their lives on the festive occasion.

“I am sure occasions like this inspire us to conquer the evils of modern day and build a peaceful and harmonious society,” she said.

She also appealed to all to celebrate the festival in a safe manner following Covid-19 guidelines and hoped to celebrate next Deepavali in a Covid-free environment.
