Hyderabad: Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan extended greetings to people of Telangana and all Telugu people living in different parts of the world on the auspicious occasion of Ugadi marking the commencement of Telugu new year of ‘Plava’ on Tuesday.
She said Ugadi is a festival of joy and hope, and wished that the new year brings with it new health, happiness, prosperity, bright future and a safe environment.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Governor was confident that ‘Sri Plava Nama Samvatsaram’ will usher in a healthy and pandemic-free life for all people across the world. She hoped that it would reinforce the courage in the people in fighting the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic and emerge victorious. “We shall pledge in this new year that we, our family members, our relatives, and our friends shall stay healthy by strictly complying with the Covid-19 preventive norms,” she added.
Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, Council Chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy, Cabinet Ministers and other elected representatives also extended greetings to the people of Telangana State on the festive occasion of Ugadi. They hoped that the new year of Plava would stand up to its name and help people overcome the prevailing Covid-19 crisis with a new hope towards the future.
