Kothagudem: The headmaster of the Government Minority Boys School at Yellandu in Kothagudem district was caught red-handed by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths on Thursday.
The accused, Bhimanapalli Krishna was said to have demanded Rs 10,000 as bribe from a Telugu teacher, Sandhya Rani, working on an outsourcing basis at the school since last August, to clear her pending salary bills.
As he has been harassing the teacher for the past 10 days for the money; she agreed to pay Rs 2000 to the headmaster on Thursday and then complained to ACB officials, who laid a trap to catch him.
When the complainant approached the headmaster to pay the bribe, the latter told her to give it to the office attender, Kichelli Krishna, who confessed to the ACB officials that he took the money at the behest of the headmaster.
Both the headmaster and the attender would be arrested; they would be produced before the special court for SPE and ACB cases in Warangal, said ACB Khammam range DSP, Y Ramesh.
