Hyderabad: The State government has released Rs 79.57 crore to compensate farmers for crop damage caused by heavy rains from August 31 to September 6.
This compensation covers 79,574 acres of damaged crops, benefiting 79,216 farmers. The funds will be directly credited to the farmers’ accounts at a rate of Rs 10,000 per acre.
Khammam and Mahabubabad, the districts affected badly received compensation for loss of crops in 28,407 acres and 14,669 acres respectively.
