Green drive at DPS Nacharam garners overwhelming response

Delhi Public School, Nacharam celebrated the birthday of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao with the Green India Challenge Haritha Haram Programme on its lush campus. A strong believer in nurturing the environment, the school took this opportunity to plant saplings on the occasion.
The programme was conducted by students of the Senior Secondary segment. An auspicious prayer followed by a speech on the power of nature. Principal Dr Sunitha Rao addressed the students and motivated them to add their might to save the environment. She highlighted the importance of programmes like Haritha Haram in creating social awareness.

The student council accompanied the Principal and Senior Vice Principal for planting saplings around the school grounds. At the time of dispersal saplings were given to teachers and students in the extension of the programme. They were encouraged to plant a sapling each at their respective homes. Senior Vice Principal Nandita Sunkara appreciated the students in always being at the forefront of any such initiative by the school thereby displaying a strong sense of social responsibility. The ‘Koti Vriksharchana’ programme was highly appreciated by parents and students alike.
