Gurukul student washed away in temple tank in Nagarkurnool
Five intermediate students, including Ramesh had visited Sri Amba Ramalingeswara Swamy Temple in Veldanda on Wednesday for Mahasivaratri. As the students got into the temple tank, Ramesh, who could not swim, also got into the tank.

Nagarkurnool: An intermediate second year student from the Social Welfare Residential School at Jayaprakashnagar thanda of Kalwakurthy mandal, got washed away in a temple tank. The student has been identified as 16-year-old Ramesh.
Five intermediate students, including Ramesh had visited Sri Amba Ramalingeswara Swamy Temple in Veldanda on Wednesday for Mahasivaratri. As the students got into the temple tank, Ramesh, who could not swim, also got into the tank.
After noticing that Ramesh was missing, the other students immediately raised an alarm. The fire department checked the surveillance cameras and staff launched rescue operations and dewatered the temple tank, according to reports.
Despite continuing the operations till midnight, they could not trace Ramesh. The student’s parents reached the spot and argued with the school staff alleging that their ward was missing due to their negligence. They pleaded with the officials to rescue their ward, the reports said.
