Gussadi dance by Gondu tribe of Telangana is being featured at IFFI

Gussadi is performed specially by the Rajagond tribe of Adilabad district, who celebrate the Dandari festival for fifteen days starting from the full moon and ending with the Diwali festival.

Hyderabad: The Gussadi dance, a staple of Gondu tribal culture of Telangana State is part of the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) festival between November 20 and 28 at Goa.

The Gond artists from Telangana, under the auspices of Central Bureau of Communication, Hyderabad, are part of 10 folk, tribal and classical dance groups from across India, who have been specially selected and are performing Gussadi dance at the IFFI festival.

Gussadi is performed specially by the Rajagond tribe of Adilabad district, who celebrate the Dandari festival for fifteen days starting from the full moon and ending with the Diwali festival. The Gussadi dance is specially performed during this period.

The Gussadi artists who are part of the team and performing at the IFFI include Kanaka Sudarshan, Kumra Sairaj, Jungka Sanjay Kumar, Mesram, Laxman, Soyam Ramesh, Sidam Gopal, Atram Arjun, Kanaka Srikanth and Mesram Navnath.

The Telangana Central Bureau of Communication, Additional General, Shruti Patil, CBC, Nodal Officer, Dr. J. Vijay Kumar are coordinating the Gussadi performances at the IFFI festival.
