Hafizpet railway station gets Rs 29.21 cr makeover under Amrit Bharat Scheme

Hyderabad: The Hafizpet railway station is undergoing a major makeover as part of the redevelopment work being taken up under ‘Naya Bharat Naya Station’ initiative of Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS) of Railway Ministry.
As of date, about 80 per cent of the proposed development work has been completed. Simultaneously, all the works are in fast progress and are targeted to be completed by 2025 end. The Hafizpet railway station redevelopment is being taken up with an approximate cost of Rs 29.21 crore.
The key completed works include the launch of the Foot over Bridge (FoB) girders and platform extensions, among others. The ongoing works involve the station building façade, lifts, escalators and a waiting hall.
The South Central Railway (SCR) authorities said the envisaged transformation of the Hafizpet railway station was in good shape. Around 60 MMTS train services and eight express train services ply through this station.
The station is being upgraded with various passenger-friendly facilities, including a spacious concourse, waiting halls, food stalls, and restrooms. It also has provisions for divyangjan passengers, including separate toilets and ramps, etc.
