Hanamkonda: The Retired Employees’ Bakayila (dues) Sadhana Committee (REWA) Warangal district committee has demanded the Congress government to clear the pending dues of retired employees and teachers immediately.
Speaking to the media here on Thursday, the committee leaders Sridharla Dharmendra, Kadari Bhogeshwar, Kandukuri Devadasu, MD Mahbub Ali and others said that it was outrageous that the government has not paid the benefits to the retired employees even after 18 months of their retirement.
The retired employees were unable to arrange marriages of their children, build a house, repay their debts and pay bank EMIs, as a result of which they were suffering mentally and from physical illnesses.
As many as 13,000 employees retired in the State from services from March 2024 to September 2025. Nearly 26 retired employees have died across the State during the period. The pensioners have approached the court and some of them were paid the dues while the others were yet to be paid, they lamented.
The retired employees have formed Retired Employees’ Bakayila Sadhana Committee to fight for their retirement benefits because of the government’s negligent attitude. The government should take immediate steps to pay the benefits such as PRC 2020 arrears, Telangana State Government Life Insurance (TSGLI), Commutation of Pension, General Provident Fund (GPF) and Group Insurance Scheme (GIS) to the retired employees, the committee leaders said.
The committee honorary president M Chandramouli, leaders Abdul Ghaffar, M Damodar, Sura Kumaraswamy, Sanka Badri Narayana, S. Govardhan, P. Sanjeeva Reddy, Lakshmaiah and others were present.
