Handball Federation chief promises academy in all TS districts

Handball Federation of India President Arishnapally Jagan Mohan Rao promised to restore the old glory of handball in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Handball Federation of India President Arishnapally Jagan Mohan Rao announced that they planned to set up an academy in each district with the help of the government.

Speaking on the occasion of the International Handball Day celebrations held at the Lal Bahadur Stadium, Rao promised to restore the old glory of handball in the city. “Hyderabad was the hub for handball in the 1970s and we will get back the old charm with the new trend,’’ he said.

Rao also stated that they are keen to set up an indoor handball stadium and academy in Hyderabad. “We would like to promote handball in a big way by building an art of the opening with the combined efforts along with sports fraternity, coaches and senior players to achieve that glory again”. “We are preparing to open an indoor handball stadium with state-of-the-art facilities.”.
