Siddipet: Former Minister T Harish Rao came to the rescue of poultry farmers and chicken centre owners to sensitise the people. He said that boiled eggs and cooked chicken will cause no harm even if it was infected with any disease. Harish Rao ate chicken to clear the apprehensions of the people during a free chicken and egg mela organised in Siddipet.

Rao said that the BRS Ministers and the then Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao also organised similar educative programmes during Covid-19 to clear the doubts of people. He said that eggs and chicken have more proteins than any other food.

Saying that Siddipet had second biggest poultry industry, Rao said that the BRS government had extended subsidies on maize and supplied subsidised electricity.

However, he said that the Congress government ignored the poultry sector completely, pushing the industry into crisis. Rao called upon the people not to believe the rumours being spread on social media.
