Hyderabad: BRS Deputy Floor Leader T Harish Rao on Thursday alleged that a conspiracy within the Telangana Congress led to the rejection of AICC in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan’s Rajya Sabha nomination.
Demanding a thorough inquiry into the episode, Harish Rao urged Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to identify those responsible.
“It is up to the Chief Minister to constitute a Special Investigation Team or order any other inquiry to uncover the conspiracy and expose those behind it,” he said.
Harish Rao stated that a BJP Minister from Madhya Pradesh had publicly announced that information related to the nomination issue had originated from the Telangana Congress. The former Minister further alleged that a Congress leader who had earlier aspired for the TPCC Working President post, and who was believed to be a close associate of the Chief Minister, was behind the rejection of the nomination.
“A leader who had opposed Meenakshi Natarajan’s Rajya Sabha nomination in the past had once again worked against her candidature,” Harish Rao claimed.a
