Siddipet: Former Minister T Harish Rao has urged the party agents at booth level to ensure the votes of BRS loyalists and Former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao‘s followers continued to be in the voter list even after the Special Intensive Revision (SIR).

Addressing the BRS Party membership drive campaign launch in Husnabad on Wednesday, Harish Rao said that the party agents must track the revision closely to ensure that the BRS supporters are not removed from the list, as every vote would be crucial in the coming elections. He maintained that the SIR was a regular work carried by the Election Commission of India (ECI) to curate the voters list.

He asked the party agents to accompany BLOs and Anganwadi teachers to every voter’s house. Rao said that the booth level officers will remove the votes of people who died and the persons who had voted at two different places after checking them carefully.

Elaborating on the Congress government’s failure in keeping the promises, the former minister said that the BRS government put all out efforts to conduct a trial run of the Gouravelly project. However, he said that the Congress was confined to just statements and did nothing so far in this regard.

Exposing Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s lack of knowledge on irrigation projects, Rao said Revanth took years to understand the Palamuru Lift Irrigation Project in his own district. “God knows how many years Revanth would take to understand the Guravelly reservoir and get the water here”, he said. However, the former minister said that they would get the Godavari water to Husnabad immediately after coming to power in 2028.

He also recalled how BRS made Husnabad a revenue division besides bringing up a police sub-divisional office and several other facilities. Even though Vanakalam agriculture operations have commenced, Rao said that the Congress government failed to release Rythu Bharosa funds of last yasangi, let alone the possibility of current seasons incentive. He said that the Rythu Bheema release was stalled for five months now.

Accusing the Congress of making no efforts to release funds to development and welfare schemes, he said that Revanth was giving the funds on priority to big contractors since he would get commissions from them. While Congress claimed that they were working on a “mission mode”, Rao said the Revanth’s government was actually on “commission mode”. Party leaders V Lakshmikantha Rao, T Jeevan Reddy, V Sathish Kumar and others were present.
