Harish Rao calls Prof Jayashankar icon of Telangana aspirations, urges people to follow his ideals

Hyderabad: Senior BRS leader and former Minister T Harish Rao paid rich tributes to Telangana ideologue Prof K Jayashankar on his birth anniversary on Wednesday, calling him the icon of the aspirations of 4.5 crore Telangana people. He asserted that a true tribute to Prof Jayashankar would be to draw inspiration from his ideals and tread in his path.
In a statement, Harish Rao said Prof Jayashankar was a visionary who dedicated his life to the cause of Telangana statehood. He recalled how BRS chief and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao ensured that Jayashankar’s contributions were institutionalised by incorporating his life story in school textbooks, naming the agricultural university and also Bhupalpally district after him.
He said the previous BRS government also mandated official celebrations of his birth and death anniversaries.
