Hyderabad: Voicing concern over the arrest of Group-1 candidates who were peacefully protesting for justice, BRS leader and former Minister T Harish Rao on Thursday condemned the police action targeting unemployed youths and students.

He demanded their immediate release from Begum Bazar Police Station. Harish Rao questioned the government’s actions, seeking to know from the people in power “if illegally detaining students in places without power was their way of governance.”

Rao reminded the Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, of their visits to Ashok Nagar Library during the elections to seek votes.

He criticised them for forgetting their promises and deceiving the students. He also pointed out that the government’s true colours were coming out even before completing ten months in power, showing their hypocritical love towards students.

He warned Revanth Reddy to change his harsh policies towards students and criticised the Telangana Chief Minister’s Office for their undemocratic stance.
