Karimnagar: Finance Minister T Harish Rao on Tuesday flayed BJP leader Eatala Rajender for spreading lies for the sakes of votes in Huzurabad Assembly by-poll.
“Rajender, in his campaign, has been saying that the State government took up various developmental works in Huzurabad only because of his resignation. If the BJP leader’s statement is true, how were Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima, 24 hours free power, Aasara pensions, Kalyanalaxmi and other schemes introduced?” Harish Rao asked at a campaign meeting in Korapalli of Jammikunta mandal.
To gain public sympathy, Rajender has been using such dialogues. These dialogues, however, do not provide a meal to the public, the Minister said.
Reacting sharply to the BJP leader’s comments that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao lacked humanity, the Minister said the expression ‘lack of inhumanity’ was applicable to Rajender who backstabbed TRS and Chandrashekhar Rao. The Chief Minister have opportunity for Rajender to contest on TRS party ticket six times and also gave him a Ministerial post, he said, adding that the BJP leader despite this backstabbed TRS which gave him political life.
Till three months ago, Rajender criticised the anti-farmers’ laws and other policies of the BJP government at the Centre and he has now joined the saffron party, he said. Commenting on the killing of farmers by hitting vehicles in Uttar Pradesh, Harish Rao advised the people to decide whether they want to elect BJP.
While the BJP government was killing farmers and imposing a burden on the common public by increasing the prices of diesel, petrol and cooking gas, the TRS government was providing all kinds of support to farmers.
Referring to the BJP leader’s comments that Harish Rao was telling lies, the Minister questioned that giving Rs 2,016 pension, Rs 10,000 to farmers under Rythu Bandhu, Rs l lakh under Kalyanalaxmi, and Rs 13,000 to lactation women under KCR kit scheme were lies.
Was the increase of diesel, petrol and cooking gas prices by the central government not true? He questioned and wanted the BJP leader to seek votes by reducing the price of cooking gas to Rs 500 from Rs 1,000 before the Huzurabad by-poll scheduled on October 30.
The Chief Minister had sanctioned 4,000 double bedroom houses to each Minister. While houses were completed in all segments, not a single house was completed in Huzurabad. Rajender was the only Minister, who has completed not a single house.
Harish Rao promised to construct 5,000 houses in Huzurabad if TRS candidate Gellu Srinivas Yadav was elected in by-election.
Since the people were not in a position to believe the BJP party, Rajender was not taking the name of BJP while participating in the election campaign, the Minister said and advised the people not to believe Rajender.
