Hyderabad: As part of expanding government healthcare services in the IT corridor, a new third floor with 100-beds at the District Hospital Kondapur was inaugurated by Health Minister, T Harish Rao on Wednesday.
The new 100-bed facility, developed as part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative with Mindspace Business Parks REIT (real Estate Investment Trust), is expected to play a vital role in providing free healthcare services during a possible third wave of Covid, Harish Rao said.
Efforts are also on to add a dialysis unit at the Kondapur District Hospital for patients with chronic kidney diseases, he said.
“During the two Covid waves, as part of CSR initiatives, a total of 1300 beds were added in various government hospitals in Hyderabad. I thank Mindspace for the contribution and urge them to adopt the Kondapur District Hospital and take-up its annual maintenance,” Harish Rao said.
To strengthen critical care facilities before a possible third Covid wave, Health Minister said that the State government is in the process of adding 900 ICU beds in all government hospitals in Telangana with a cost of Rs. 150 crore.
Harish Rao also urged public representatives including MLAs and Corporators to get involved to promote Covid vaccination in a big way. “Before facing any fresh surge of Covid infections, Telangana must administer vaccines to as many individuals as possible. We are already vaccinating anywhere between 3.5 lakh and 4 lakh individuals on a daily basis. I urge people to get vaccinated at the earliest,” he said.
Education Minister, P Sabitha Indra Reddy, Serlingampally MLA, Arekapudi Gandhi, CEO, Mindspace Business Park REIT, Vinod Rohira and others were present.
