Siddipet: Former Minister T Harish Rao on Wednesday said Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s leadership had completely destroyed the Congress in Telangana, predicting that the party would not win any election in the State for the next 10 years.
Welcoming Raikode mandal Youth Congress president Prasanth Patil and his followers into the BRS fold in Siddipet, Harish Rao said people across the State wanted former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao back in power, having grown disillusioned with the Congress in just a year and a half.
He alleged that the Congress was avoiding local body elections due to fear of defeat. Accusing Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Mahesh Kumar Goud of spreading falsehoods about the government’s functioning, he challenged him to an open debate.
Rao also accused the Congress government of discontinuing welfare schemes launched during the BRS regime, including the KCR Kit scheme, distribution of Bathukamma sarees, and fee reimbursement. He added that farmers were denied Rythu Bharosa benefits for two consecutive seasons.
Former Andole MLA Chanti Kranthi Kiran, senior leader Patlolla Jaipal Reddy and others were also present at the event.
