Hyderabad: Former Minister T Harish Rao questioned Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy over the legitimacy of his investment claims from Davos and charged him with neglecting farmers’ issues.

He termed the Chief Minister’s press meet an attempt to salvage credibility after failed efforts to promote investment claims through press releases and media coverage.

Taking to X, Harish Rao ridiculed Revanth Reddy’s press conference on Tuesday, asking why he was still talking about Davos, an event that had already concluded. He mocked the claims of the reported Rs 1.82 lakh crore investments from Davos.

“Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka himself stated that all MoUs signed there were merely expressions of interest that require open tenders. Who is telling the truth – Revanth Reddy or Bhatti?” he asked.

The BRS MLA also criticised the lack of transparency in the investment figures, accusing the government of presenting hollow claims without justification.

He condemned the Chief Minister’s remarks dismissing the delay in Rythu Bharosa investment support as a small issue, noting that farmers were struggling with mounting debts and awaiting promised assistance.

“Farmers, who were assured relief by Sankranti, now have to wait until March 31. Is the plight of debt-ridden farmers less important than your Davos drama?” he questioned, adding that Revanth Reddy’s priorities were misplaced.

In a sharp personal dig, Harish Rao felt that Revanth Reddy might be suffering from “attention deficit disorder” and urged him to consult a psychiatrist.

He said the people of Telangana had grown weary of the government’s self-talk and sleazy satires and called on the Chief Minister to focus on addressing farmers’ grievances instead of promoting unsubstantiated investment stories.
