Hyderabad: Senior BRS leader and former Minister T Harish Rao came down heavily on Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for failing to ensure timely payment of salaries to home guards across the State. Despite being both Chief Minister and Home Minister, Revanth Reddy has not acted on the persistent crisis, Rao said, accusing him of ignoring employees while posturing in Delhi.
Highlighting the plight of hundreds of home guards in districts including Bhadradri Kothagudem, Medak, Mahabubnagar, Wanaparthy, Jagtial, Warangal, Ramagundam and Vikarabad, Harish Rao said they are yet to receive their salaries even at the month’s end.
“These personnel live on modest earnings. Cheques are bouncing, EMIs are overdue, and banks are pressuring them. They’re unable to pay school fees, rents, or manage daily expenses without borrowing,” he said.
Rao criticised the Congress government for repeating the same lapse month after month since taking charge, while making no effort to address it. “There is no accountability. The home guards have been reduced to begging for their basic dues while the Congress government remains unmoved,” he said.
He demanded an explanation from Revanth Reddy, who also holds the Home portfolio, and called for immediate clearance of pending salaries and a permanent fix to avoid such delays in future.
