Siddipet: BRS Deputy Legislative Party leader T Harish Rao has threatened to lay siege to Secretariat with thousands of unemployed youth if the government did not notify a job calendar and issue employment notifications for two lakh jobs soon.

He also demanded that the government extend the age limit for government jobs by 10 years like the BRS did. Harish Rao, who visited the district library in Siddipet on Saturday, was speaking after interacting with the unemployed youth preparing for different competitive examinations.

During his conversation, Rao accused the Congress Party of cheating the unemployed youth as it failed to keep the promise of issuing notifications for two lakh jobs within a year after they came to power. Even after two-and-a-half years of their rule, Rao said that Congress laid no step forward to fulfill its promise.

He said that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi provoked the unemployed with his promises at Ashok Nagar library while Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy continued the same promises during his election rallies.

The former minister said that BRS had issued notification for two lakh jobs, but they could complete the recruitment process for 1.60 lakh jobs. When Congress came to power, Rao said that the ruling party claimed it as their work by just declaring the results of remaining 40,000 jobs.

When the opposition questioned Revanth over the notifications issued for the jobs in the State assembly, Rao said that the Chief Minister replied that they issued notifications for 16,000 jobs in the last two-and-a-half years. He demanded the government to issue notifications for mega DSC and teacher recruitment notifications to fill the vacant posts in SC, ST, BC and minority residential schools without any delay.

Rao accused the Congress of cheating the students by promising mopeds to girl students and honorarium to unemployed youth. The former minister said that the unemployed youths have been vigorously waiting for notifications as they have spent a huge amount of money on coaching and time for preparation.
