Medak: Finance and Health Minister T Harish Rao said that Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Party candidate’s victory is a cakewalk in Medak Local Authorities Constituency elections.
Speaking to news reporters in Medak after TRS candidate Dr Yadava Reddy filed his nomination on Tuesday, the Finance Minister said TRS Party has 777 votes while the Congress, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and other parties together had just 250 votes.
Since the Election Commission of India (ECI) has also given votes to MLAs, MLCs and MPs in the current elections for the first time, Harish Rao said that the decision will also be going to favour them as they have more MLAs, MLCs and MPs in the erstwhile Medak district.
Terming the Congress Party filing nomination immoral in the absence of adequate votes, he said that the outcome of the election result on December 10 will teach a lesson to them. “The TRS Party in Medak district is waiting to see the process of the election completed because their victory is inevitable,” he said.
From Medak Constituency, seven candidates have filed 16 nominations so far. TRS candidate Dr Yadava Reddy filed as many as three nominations.
T Nirmala, the wife of Sangareddy MLA and Congress leader T Jagga Reddy, has filed two sets of nominations on Tuesday, the last date for nominations.
