Medak: Sudden rains damaged the harvested paddy at the procurement centres and on the platforms and roads, where the farmers dried up the paddy.
Most of Siddipet and Medak districts witnessed heavy rain on Friday evening, causing huge damage to the paddy farmers. While the farmers had dried up the paddy on Narsapur-Medak road in Kowdipally, the paddy was swept away in the rainwater while the farmers looked helplessly.
Since the procurement of paddy was going at a snail’s pace across the erstwhile Medak district, the farmers were forced to wait in the procurement centre with their produce. Meanwhile, the standing crops paddy were also damaged by the heavy rains.
